Lavender Harmony – First Impressions [Liquid Drum & Bass] | A State of Sugar: Waffle

A true forerunner in the pony music scene, Lavender comes through with a smooth, warm and full liquid tune. Showcasing her expertise in production and going for a classic sound with crispy clean drums and a wonderfully rich bassline, she has written a beautiful composition about Octavia. This song is a part of a forthcoming release by Lavender, and we got her to tell about this in her own words.
“As she sat backstage, surrounded by the other members of the orchestra, Octavia could only think about the past, while dreading the night’s performance. She had practiced diligently and attended each and every rehearsal session, and earned this once in a lifetime, to prove that she too could be part of something much more grand than a single pony can accomplish by herself. Despite this, she found little comfort from her memories of the past few months, recalling all the sleepless nights spent in anguish over every little mistake she made, the sickness she endured leading up to her audition, and the gruelling and arduous regime of rehearsals. Despite her pride and determination to prove herself, and the literal embodiment of her success waiting on the other side of that velvet curtain, she couldn’t help remembering every one of her past failures and every time her heart had been broken. Through all this, one single thought encompassed her mind.

First Impressions was also released as a part of a larger community album, A State of Sugar’s Waffle. For a while now they have been showing a more softer, melodic side of the pony music scene, but are no strangers to going hard either. Waffle also includes familiar names such as Nevermourn, Paloris, and Zizkil, as well as people like BlackIceMusic, Greyfade, and MrMehster. The album also features a tune from one of the librarians.
